BlackOak Collective joined forces with Crying in D.C. for a powerful and tender evening of emotional release, community care, and radical vulnerability at Cry N’ Vibe. Centered around the belief that crying is not weakness but wisdom, the event invited DMV locals to embrace emotional expression as a form of healing and resistance.
Structured in three parts, the evening began with a social hour, allowing guests to ground themselves in the space and connect. This was followed by a facilitated fireside chat where speakers guided an open, thoughtful conversation on mental health, grief, identity, and healing justice.
By holding space for vulnerability and joy in equal measure, this collaboration reaffirmed that Black emotional wellness is environmental justice and that healing, too, is revolutionary.
