A native of Maryland and the Chesapeake Bay, Kiera has a passion for fostering the collaboration and planning needed to integrate science and social science in coastal and ocean policy. Kiera currently works at Ocean Conservancy as the Manager for Program Operations. In this role, she orchestrates annual work planning, implements internal communications, and supports effective operations. Prior to Ocean Conservancy, Kiera worked as a program associate at Meridian Institute, a non-profit consultancy that helps partners collaborate and develop actionable solutions to complex challenges. At Meridian, Kiera worked on U.S. ocean policy, marine debris, U.S. fisheries management, seafood supply chains, and organizational strategic planning. Kiera has also conducted research on oyster fishery policy in Maryland, oyster restoration in the Chesapeake Bay, salt marsh restoration in Virginia, and alternative dietary feeds for farm-raised red drum. Kiera holds a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science and Anthropology from the University of Virginia.
