Wes Gobar is a native of Fredericksburg, Virginia and a 2018 graduate of the University of Virginia, where he studied History and Government. His interest in advocacy began in Charlottesville as a racial justice student organizer at UVA. Wes is a communications and policy assistant for Evergreen Action, an effort by former Inslee 2020 staffers to ensure the next president and congress deliver on a national mobilization to defeat the climate crisis. He previously served as a confidential assistant and executive aide to Virginia Attorney General Mark Herring and a field organizer for the VA Democratic Party during the 2018 midterms. Wes also has interned for Rep. Donald McEachin under the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation and for the National Park Service. Wes’s writing has been featured in Vox, the New York Times, and the Washington Post.
