What We Do

Networking Events

We host events to build relationships across generations and environmental disciplines.. Building a stronger Black environmental community furthers all of our work and allows us to achieve greater collective impact. These events include happy hours, fireside chats, and service events.

Fireside Chats

We host fireside chats to foster cross-disciplinary learning. Fireside chats take the form of presentations, panels, and roundtable discussions. Topics are timely and relevant to all members.

Job Board

We partner with corporates and nonprofits to share  career opportunities through our ‘Budding Opportunities’ Job Board.

Job Board

We partner with corporates and nonprofits to promote available jobs in environmental fields to its public network and its members. ‘Budding Opportunities’ distinguishes itself by requiring that each posting incorporate a point of contact with whom interested applicants could connect. Updates to Budding Opportunities will be sent to subscribers on  a weekly basis.

Student Engagement

BlackOak engages with secondary and university students in order to increase interest in environmental careers and build the pipeline of Black students applying to positions.
